Most of these products are simply referring to the terpene profile, but the terpenes would typically do very little to steer the effects, especially when these terpenes are less often derived from cannabis, and usually contain solvents.

Let’s knock some basic science out of the way…

Can Hemp Be Indica? Can Indica Cannabis be used as hemp?

There is no such thing as Indica hemp, and there is barely such a thing as a hybrid. That is because hemp is a Sativa. Pure and simple, straightforward, and no lines missed.

Is Hemp Sativa?

Yes, Hemp is a Sativa form of the cannabis plant. Sativa doesn’t necessarily mean you will be more awake. That is just the type of cannabis that the plant is. It has nothing to do with effects.

Why do we say Indica, Sativa, or Hybrid for Hemp?

Over time, however, these became marketing terms that people over time turned to so they could easily describe what they were looking for, and meant very little in regards to what the actual product was.

One person might be looking to relax, but rather than asking for Deathstar as a flower, or looking for specific cannabinoids and terpene balances like Delta 8 THC and HHC with Myrcene and Linalool, they simply say “I need an Indica” and everyone knows immediately what they mean.

Most well-seasoned stoners understand these terms very well, and know what they want and don’t want, but stoners don’t always know science terms, so if we start throwing cannabinoid names and terpenes around, we’re gonna start to have some misunderstandings.

You may recall at the beginning of our company, we had started up what was called the Artisan line. Over time, it grew, and grew! People were so pleased with how these different blends were working, but we found ourselves in a bit of a pickle. After much thought and many hours spent researching different balances, we finally concluded a final set of blends that took advantage of 3 psychoactive cannabinoids and 3 supporting cannabinoids. Delta 8 THC, Hexahydrocannabinol, and THC-O are the main 3 psychoactive cannabinoids.

What we discovered is that with a balanced blend of these several cannabinoids, we could begin to change the effects and how they would work.
